Some sessions are memorable because of the beautiful scenery, and others are memorable because of the unexpected moments that have everyone laughing. The Stork family’s session at Hitchcock Nature Center had the best of both.

With the stunning overlooks of the Loess Hills surrounding us, Hitchcock Nature Center near Honey Creek and Crescent, Iowa, gave us the perfect setting for an evening full of adventure, laughter, and beautiful family memories.

Little Jovi completely stole my heart with her huge personality and endless sass. One of my favorite moments was watching her proudly insist on walking the family dog herself. She even started sticking her tongue out just like the dog, and it was impossible not to laugh. Those genuine little moments are always the ones that make a gallery feel so special.

Of course, every session has a few behind-the-scenes adventures! While we were walking one of the trails, I managed to find a patch of fallen acorns with my foot.. and promptly discovered just how slippery they are. 🤪 Thankfully, I stayed in one piece and we all had a good laugh before continuing on.

Just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any funnier, the family dog had one final surprise waiting for us. Right as we were wrapping up, there was a spectacular poop blowout directly in front of Cale.. who very nearly walked right through it! 😅 Safe to say we all ended the session laughing.

Between Jovi’s infectious personality, Ashley and Cale’s easygoing smiles, their sweet pup, and the gorgeous golden light across the Loess Hills.. this session was such a joy from beginning to end.
