BAILEY+JAKE COLORADO ENGAGEMENT SESSION - Perception Signature Photography

Sometimes when you grow up in FLAT Southwest Iowa, you swoon over places with mountains. And sometimes, you also choose to have your engagement portraits taken in them!

It just so happened that I was going to be in Colorado for a wedding in April so I threw out the suggestion of doing some photoshoots while I was out there. Bailey was quick to say she'd meet me in the mountains with her fiancé!

We started their engagement session at Flatirons Vista where the three of us all learned something new: Cacti grew here. We all thought you had to be a bit further Southwest before you came across those. Nothing big, just small ones you had to be careful not to sit on!

From there we ventured a couple different places because our goal was to find water, of course! But my favorite spot was Boulder Falls. What a magnificent spot for some romantic images. Bailey may have been a bit afraid that Jake would knock her into the water, but I'm happy to report that no such thing happened-ha!

We ended their engagement session at Lost Gulch Overlook. We had hoped for some sunset images here but Colorado didn't seem to care about our plans and gave us plenty of cloud cover. It had been 50mph winds the day before so lets just say-we didn't complain!
